TNIAMP - 2018-19

 TAMILNADU IRRIGATED AGRICULTURE MODERNIZATION PROJECT

TNIAMP is a multi disciplinary project funded by World Bank and implemented by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Objective:

       The main objective of the programme is crop diversification from paddy to Horticulture crops, water conservation and promotion of reduced pesticide usages and climate resilient technologies.

 Project Outlay:

        TNIAMP II will be implemented in next 6 years from 2018-19 to 2023-24 and programmed to implement the demonstration under fruits, Hybrid vegetables, spices and flowers cultivation at an outlay Rs.210.00 crores in 66 sub basins of 30 Districts.

 First Year Programme:

        TNIAMP will be implemented in the first year in 18 sub basins of 22 Districts Kancheepuram, Thiruvallur, Cuddalore, Villupuram, perambalur, Dharmapuri, Madurai, Dindugul, Theni, Viruthunagar, Thirunelveli, Thootukudi, Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Pudhukottai, Trichy, Erode and Coimbatore under Horticulture crops with at an outlay of Rs. 17.91 crores.

 

        Crop demonstration, Promotion of pesticide free vegetables production, creation of cultivation infrastructure (Pandal), installation of micro irrigation, Insitu grafting in grapes, climate resilience technology of shade net cultivation and mulching are the innovative crop intervention in TNIAMP.
